Is there any training course that is necessary to use a radar gun? I.e. Say in traffic enforcement in a private community that wants to ticket speeders. Oh and its in New York State.

Hi

If you a law enforcement officer, trainig is usually required, yes, for legal purposes in court. Any private citizen can use a radar gun, but whether the evidence can be used in court is questionable. Check with your local law enforcement officials.
