Currently have a Konus campus 5306. A good scope but disappouinted by the depth fo field and low contrast. what are my options for something better.

Hi

Depth of field is mostly a function of magnification, but you will get better contrast with a model equipped with a good Abbe condenser and better optics, such as the LOMO MULTISCOPE BMH4-BF binocular microscope.
