Meade Autostar Suite Software

Can you assist us in what Telescope the Meade Autostar Suite will control ?
We recently purchased a Meade DS-80 with the Autostar Handbox. I was told at the time we purchased I could purchase software that would then control the scope via my Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop with a USB cable for outdoor use as well as indoor instruction and showing photos on the PC screen. Very Happy

The Meade #506 Connector Cable Set and Astrofinder software, http://www.opticsplanet.net/meade-astro-finder-kit.html will enable an Autostar-equipped DS telescope to be operated through a personal computer.

The question, though, is if you have an Autostar (AT) telescope or an EC only telescope. If your hand control has an LCD display, then you have an AT and the above should work. If you have an EC, your hand control will have only arrows and no LCD screen. If so, , you will need to upgrade it to an Autostar before the 506 kit will work.
