I have this exact model rangefinder and my biggest problem is that the batteries drain down very quickly when not in use. Is this unit not equipped with an auto shut off? Should I be doing something to turn the unit off or can I simply put it down and forget about it? I lost the manual on this unit during a recent move and this is my only concern with it.
According to Nikon, it has an Autopower shutoff after reading displays for 8 seconds. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

I recently installed a new battery for the laser 600 and used it for about 30 minutes. I put it away and 1 week later the battery was completely dead. This cant be right. What do you suggest.
