I can't seem to find out if the nikon 848 has a quick release plate and a removeable ball head. Do you know? And what is the weight? I know the picture is wrong. I saw a post saying it is black. Is it the same as the Bogen 725B?
Thanks

Hi
Yes, it uses a standard Bogen 3157N QR plate. It is a three way head, but not fluid filled or especially smooth, but it is rugged and durable. It is basically a Bogen 3405BN. I use one, myself, for my 60 and 65mm scopes, but rate it as a bit light fro 80mm scopes. It is definitely black.
Here are some additional specs
Wt. 5 lbs
Maximum Height - 62.5 inches
Minimum Height - 20.5 inches
Closed Length - 22 inches
Maximum Load Capacity - 11 lbs _________________ ----------------------
