I'm trying to make sense of the different Generations and I had a question. I like the feel of the Bushnell Digital 5X42 Monocular. Its images are crisp and clear. It's probably one of the best out there, but will it still not give me as much power as a baseline model Gen 2 monocular. I'm trying to decide between the Bushnell Digital 5X42 (Gen1) vs ATN MO-42.
So does being the best Gen 1 still leave you inferior to the worst Gen 2?
Can't wait to read your answer!!! |

Hi
As far as optics and performance, the Stealthview will be close, but not quite equal to, the best Gen 2, but the difference in price makes the Stealthview very attractive. I also like digitals such as the Stealthview because getting them setup for photography is much easier than with conventional NV.
If we are taling strictly resolution, you can get a Gen 1 that will be on a par with a weak Gen 2, but the Gen 1 will always be inferior in terms of optics, specifically distortion at the edge of the field. _________________ ----------------------
