Mounting a scope for the first time.

I just mounted a Nikon scope on a new savage 7mm-08 rifle. The store sold me leupold base for a savage 110 RH which seems right. My question is how many screws should match up with the holes in the rifle. I only matched two in the front. The two in the back do not line up.

They should all match up. It does you no good if you cannot secure the entire base. You probably have the wrong base. There is also the possibility that the screw holes are off on the rifle. This might be the case if you are only slightly off. Most likely it is the wrong base. Either way you need to make some changes.
