I am looking for a 4GB memory card for a Canon PowerShot 3S IS camera.
Does SimpleTech make one? Price? Thank you.

At this time, we do not carry any SD memory card over 2GB. Please check out our
selection at: [Memory Cards]

Are there problems with the 4GB SD memory card cards over the 2GB memory card? Or is it only
because there is not that much call for them? Thank you.

There's really not a huge demand for them for a couple reasons. First of
all, 4 GB is huge. My 3.2MP S1IS will take almost 600 pictures on the
highest setting on a SanDisk 1GB Ultra II card. Even a 10MP camera would be able to take
close to 500 on a 4GB card, and that's a whole lot of pictures to keep on
one card. What happens if you lose the one card or it gets wiped out at the
airport? 500 pics gone forever. I would not be too happy with this situation
personally.

Secondly, cards with a capacity over 1GB (sometimes over 2GB) use a
different file sharing format that is not recognized by many cameras. There
are a select few cameras out there that will even recognize a 4GB card.

These hi capacity cards do not sell well, so there are fewer and fewer being
made... for now. We'll see what the future holds for a "standardized" memory
card
format, but I doubt that's any time soon... or compatible with any of
today's cameras. Your best bet is truely to go with a 1GB card, and maybe
have a couple of them as a backup. I personally use only the SanDisk Ultra
II series. They are not currently in stock, but can be ordered for you.
