Attaching a Stoney Point

Hi,

I want to attach a Stoney Point Rapid Pivot Bipod(Prone/ bench model T2B13-PXX) to my monopod using the Stoney Point Rapid Pivot attachment (RPB101). Thiswill enable me to convert my monopod into a tripod.

However I am not clear as to how the Stoney Point Rapid Pivot attachment (RPB101) can be fixed to my monopod.

Is it possible to fix it to a metalic object.
