Hi
Polarized sunglasses allow light waves traveling in only one plane to pass through the lenses. This has the effect of reducing glare which is caused by light waves scattering in all different directions. To see the effect of polarization, stand on a boat and look down into the water on a sunny day. Non-polarized lenses typically see only the surface of the water. Polarized lenses allow you to see objects beneath the surface.
For this reason, polarized lenses are the lenses of choice for boating, fishing and driving and are well worth the slightly higher expense. _________________ ----------------------

| polarised lenses also filter out some of the light from LCDs. this might interfere with activities like driving and flying. |

Probably because you see *through* water, and it's harder to judge the "wetness" of surfaces...important if you are bike rider. |

Hi
Polarized lenses also have a lower light transmission and may be too dark for some driving conditions. _________________ ----------------------
