does anybody know if gen 2 and above will ever be available for sale to canada. i recently bought a gen 1 night cougar but would have rather bought something better. i dont understand the ban
Sorry, due to laws and restrictions in effect here in the US, as well as the cost and delays in processing the necessary paperwork and liceneses, we do not export Gen 2 or higher NV products. Please see our export policy at http://www.opticsplanet.net/our-policy.html#export _________________ Thanks for posting with us

thanks for the reply furtunately i have found a supplier in canada that sells gen 2 and up. he has no restrictions to sell in canada or usa. see why i mean this export law makes no sense.
We don't make the laws, we just follow them. Glad you found a source. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Hi, actually you can buy Gen.2, Gen.3 and Gen.4 IIT units in europe.
And it should not be a problem to export them to Canada.
The U.S.still have their ITAR regulations.
So to export Gen.3 from the U.S.affords a special governments licence for departments or military units
and even then you are only allowed to import image intensifiers up to FOM 1600.
