i need to replace my current tripod head (made of plastic composit) with one of aluminum. which type of head is best for spotting scopes? pan and tilt, ball. fluid head etc... i am looking for the smoothest movement. thanks...
A standard video head is ideal and the most commonly used head for spotting scopes. First, though, you need to see if your current tripod leg set can accept another head - old tripods often used a different thread size for attaching the head to the leg set. All current heads, such as the basic, but excellent Bogen 3130 need a leg set with a 3/8"x16 stud _________________ Thanks for posting with us
