new to night vision and would like some advice on what models to look into in the $1000 dollar price range, and what magnification is recommended. shots will be in low to no light conditions at 150 yards or closer for the most part.

The ATN Paladin MK 390 is my favorite gen 1 unit and is well under a grand. Gen 2 units are several times the money. You have a sporting chance at 150 yards with some ambient light on a coyote, but you're stretching the capabilities of the unit.
