OK
I am new to this and would like to purchase a night vision Monocular, I think for using while I am camping and hiking. I like to see wildlife and things walking it the night. Nothing real serious something under $500.
I thought I wanted
Yukon Digital Night Vision Ranger 5x42 or
Yukon NVMT 4x50 Multitask Night VisionMonocular 24027
But I read this below in your how to buy
The problem, in a nutshell, is that as magnification goes up, image quality in night vision goes down. Excess magnification in this technology degrades the image to the point of being useless. Best image quality in conventional night vision technology is usually obtained at 1x (normal vision, no magnification) to about 3x.
So would it be better to get something 2x or less to be use for this type of application.
Thanks for your help
Digital technology does not have the same parameters as tubed night vision and quality is not affected like standard night vision devices. The picture you get a 5X in a digital is superior to the picture from gen one or two NV units with one power. _________________ Aim Hard!
