I was wondering what the flash protection does if anything, also if all night vision scopes take a few seconds to readjust to the darkness after a flash from a muzzle or is that what the flash protection does?
Gen one scopes generally don't have flash protection. A single flash once in a while means nothing and will not harm a unit, you'll just get a bloom in your picture from too much light, like looking at a flashbulb. Later generations prevent bloom by shutting off momentarily. It allows you to get on target again more quickly, but isn't only for the protection of the unit but for quicker target acquisition. It also increases cost. _________________ Aim Hard!
