My telescope is more than 10yrs old. And when I wanted to use it and noticed that I no longer had the 3 eyepieces it came with, including the barlow lens!
What other lens can fit this telescope? I think I remember I had a 9mm but that's about it, I called Telescope.com but they asked for the size of the hole where the eye piece goes but I didnt have a tape measure handy. I know the actual hole is less than an inch, or about 15mm. Can anybody help me? My telescope is useless without the eyepieces! |

Hi
Telescope eyepieces are interchangeable between brands of telescopes and eyepieces, but only up to a point.
First, check the diameter of the opening in the focuser. It will be either .965" or 1.25" If the opening in the focuser is .965" (just under an inch), and it soundfs like it is on yours, eyepiece selection and accessory selection will be very limited, since this size is now obsolete. At the moment, we cannot supply any .965" eyepieces. Sorry.
Please note that repairing inexpensive telescopes or replacing accessories on them is seldom cost effective. For what it costs to replace a set of just two or three eyepieces - the usual number used - you can buy a brand new telescope complete with all parts including mount, tripod, eyepieces, finder scope, instruction manual and so on. You can see all our telescopes at http://www.opticsplanet.net/telescopes.html _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Hi onofre -
I too have a simmons 6450 telescope but have lost the manual. I have been looking everywhere online for one - but your post here is the only thing about this telescope I have every been able to find. Is there any chance you would be willing to make a copy of your manual? I'd be happy to re-imburse you for the postage, etc.
Thanks!
