Auto star hook up

I have the Auto star 497 with EXT 90 ,Do I have to run update thru a pc or can I run thru my Tosiba Satellite Lap top. The 505 connector only fits pc connections. I also having hard time with alignment stars. Any help would be appreated. Hint: my first telescope. Love it but would like help. Smile

Hi

To convert to a USB, you will need the RS232 birdge cable Otherwise, as long as you can get online, you can get the updates.
