Bushnell Scout 1000 vs. Leupold RX 1

Hi,
I am torn between these two Rangefinders, the Bushnell Scott 1000 or the Leupold RX 1. My hunting is with either a 12 ga. slug gun or a blackpowder rifle. Is the ARC funtion on the Bushnell or the MOA funtion on the Leupold of any use to these two types of guns?

Is there any performance difference in these two under conditions such as rain or fog? If you have any suggestions for a better choice, I am open for any suggestions.

Hi,

The angle compensation modes are best suited for longer range shots in steep terrain. If you are in the flatlands they they are of no use to you. If you take up bowhunting or go out west for a backcountry mountain elk excursion, you may benefit from the feature.

The Scout 1000 is a brand new model from Bushnell, and it promises to be a good product. The RX-I is the comparable unit from Leupold, and it is also a great model. I'd suspect that you can't go wrong with either one.

If you were looking at the Scout 1000 ARC, the comparable Leupold is the RX-II.

Features in rangefinders besides first and second priority and scan are perfect solutions to nonexistent problems, and if you're troubling over using them you probably should be paying attention to something else. Press a button and get a number. Shoot. Almost every person that has myriad options on their rangefinder never uses them and never figures out how anyway. Useless marketing gimmicks in almost all cases.
