Hi,
What's a good ccd imager to start out with? Are the less expensive "solar system" units only good for planetary images vs. deep sky objects, or can they be used for both? Or, should I look into one of the more expensive DSI units?
Thanks

Hi

You can use planetary imagers for some of the brighter deep-sky objects, but really an uphill battle. These just don't have the sensitivity for the faint stuff. Better to go right into a deep-sky imager. You can use a DSI for planets or deep-sky.
