wanting long battery life and adjustable beam for about $100

I'd like a general purpose light that's not too big, has long battery life, and an adjustable beam. I don't want to pay much more than $100.

I'm leaning toward LED, but if there are other lights that fit the above specifications, I won't rule them out.

I don't necessarily need blinding brightness, but would like to get as much light as I can get while still meeting the my other specifications.

Hi,

The only issue that I really see here is the focusable light. We carry many high power lights with multiple settings for longer run time or brighter output, but adding in the focusing beam will either decrease the brightness, the run time (based on the models that have it) and/or the light cripness. The main models that come to mind are the Mag Lite flashlights.

Many focusable lights have bright and dark spots in them so you do not get even viewing. I personally recommend a fixed brightness model. Check out the Browning Hero flashlight. This ultra bright Xenon light runs up to 4 hours on the low setting and pumps out up to 200 Lumens of light on High. This is an excellent all-around flashlight.

If you want to go with a super bright LED model, check out the Browning Tactical Hunter flashlight. This model puts out 130 Lumens for up to 2 hours on a fresh set of batteries. The next closest model to this is the Surefire L5 Lumamax which puts out 120 Lumens for up to 4 1/2 hours.

The browning lights you recommended could both be good possibilities. It looks like the Browning Hero might be more versatile than the Tactical Hunter.

I'm wondering how long the Xenon bulb lasts. Part of the reason I'm interested in LED bulbs is their longevity. Once I have a light, I'd like not having to worry about replacing batteries and bulbs too often.
