I have a unique question. Will a Celestron C8 Schmidt-Cassegrain fit on Meade LXD75 equatorial tripod?" If not, are there any available adapters? Thank you.
It will if your Celestron has a standard Vixen/Meade/Celestron size dovetail plate. If not, you will need to fit your scope with one. That may also require finding telescope tube rings for the scope in order to attach a dovetail plate. We don't carry tube rings for that size scope, but you may find them as an aftermarket accessory by shopping around. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Dear Jne_K
Thank you for your reply. This is good news. My NexStar 8 SE does indeed have the dovetail plate. I want to use it with the LXD75 tripod to take advantage of Meade's DSI II CCDs with AutoStar since Meade and Celestron software does not "talk" to each other without a 3rd Party software program. From personal experience, I don't trust the reliability of 3rd party patches since go betweens tend to slow processes and can sometimes create other issues. I feel the Meadetripod is worth the investment (it's not that smart to know that I'm putting a Celestron optical tube on top of it). Maybe not the cheapist way, but probably the most reliable. That being said, I have ordered the LXD tripod with AutoStar from Optics Planet.
