|
|
I was wondering if anyone can help out with an alignment issue. I tried calling and email Celestron but can never get through to anyone. It seems they have some of the worst customer service according to a local dealer.
When I align the scope using the 3 star method it will say "match confirmed". Then say to find Mars which is very visable in the sky and the scope goes in the opposite direction. I then try to "Solar Align" and use Mars to align on. The screen says "match confirmed" so I tell it to find Mars and off the scope goes in another direction.
The scope also flips upside down when you ask it to find something putting the eye piece unusable.
Also it will loose alignment after about 2 minutes.
I did receive a message from Celestron saying that the scope was upside down. I checked it and the scope was not upside down.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Hi
It sounds more like a software or electronics bug, rather than anything you are doing. I know it can be hard, especially this time of year, but keep trying to contact Celestron. If it is a defect, it is covered under their warranty. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

| Have you tried updating the firmware for the motor and hand control? |

flboy1966,
did you resolve your alignement problems? I have the same problem that the telescope aligns but then point at the wrong locations to find well known objects. I would like to hear how you resolved the problem. :?: |

| Have you guys replaced the batteries lately? I experienced this too with my usually fully functional scope. It had been a long time since I checked the batteries, so I replaced them, and problem solved. |

It wasn't a battery problem , but thanks for the tip.
It was a date format problem. I used dd-mm-yy (normal format for people outside the US) instead of mm-dd-yy. Now it works fine. |
