Hi guys...

I keep going back and fourth with what I think I might need, so I'm just going to ask and see what you guys think.

I am looking for an NV Monocular for spotting Coyote. The Monocular cannot rely on IR, due to state laws. It will have to be covered.

Lighting Conditions - Full Moon or very near full.
Magnification - 3x - 5x preferred.
Lightweight would be nice, as well.
Ability to mount to tripod would be nice, but is not required.
No need at all for any other types of mounts.
Digital is an option, as well. A 3 year life span is fine for my current use.

I know Gen 1 is described as "Fishbowl", but since I've never actually seen it for myself, I couldn't say weather or not this would affect my usage.

What kind of options are available to me? I don't want to spend a lot on this. If the usage increases to the point where I can justify spending big money on NV, I will be looking for a Gen 2-3 Rifle scope anyway.

The Yukon NVMT 24027 would be a good choice. You can later add the 29045 riflescope conversion kit. If you're not allowed an IR, you can't just not use it. It's the same as having a full auto and just using it in semi auto. You can use these monoculars over a hundred yards without an IR for locating dogs as long as you have some kind of ambient light. This unit does have a tripod socket.

What kind of usable distance does this unit have on a full moon night?
