Sad Ok.. so I've had the Magellan Roadmate 700 now for almost 4 years now and I bought the upgrade version 6 DVD as soon as it came out. I'm gettin gready to go on a long car ride (in the Army and have to go on a temporary duty assignment) and I need to update my maps on "Maggie"... well.. I have my DVD here.. and well... It's sort of all scratched up.. I can't get it to load at all.. I have my unlock code from Magellan and called their support and they weren't very "supportive"... They want me to spend another $99 to get a new DVD... Does anyone out there know where I can download a version or get a burned copy??

Thanks!

One unlucky chick

One of our employees had a difficult experience dealing with Magellan's customer service team. All I can say is be persistant. If you purchased a disk and it came in broken and scratched beyond use, they should be responsible fro getting you a new one.

The problem is you cannot use anyone else's software with your unit. When you bought it you gave them your serial number which they load on a check file on the DVD. It automatically pulls up your serial number when you start the upgrade and asks you to enter in the authorization code they sent you. if you are loading someone else's software, or loading your software on someone else's unit, it will fail the check and stop the load. One of the guys at work borrowed my software to upgrade his 700 and now has an unusable unit. I am trying to find a way around this problem, or a way to load the original software back on, but have had no luck. Crying or Very sad
