Hi

It can be used for that purpose, but it will not perform as well as a high performance model, such as the JUGS or even the SR3600. The msaller and/or fater the target, the better the gun you will need.

i already purchased the speedtrac and it did not work at all when it comes to tennis serves... it only detects big things like soccer balls....
ok so what about the sr3600..... if i serve from the opposite side of the tennis court towards the gun at about 140mph, will it detect it? i want to make the right decision before buying another radar gun.... thanks

Hi,

The SR3600 might not read this speed. It will read ball sized objects generally up to 110-120mph. Anything faster has to be a larger object. The SpeedTrac X is designed for tennis serves. You may have just had a defective unit. There is also a very small window of area that the radar gun will pick up movement. The faster and smaller the object is, the more direct the shot has to be for it to be read.
