The GT has been replaced with the SLT version. The SLT is just an upgrade to the computer alignment software, making it easier to get the scope aligned for a night of viewing.
As beginner scopes go, an 80mm refractor is a good choice for lunar and planetary viewing, though a bit small for serious deep-sky work. Still, if you are looking for an easy to maintain scope which can also be used for some daytime observing, an 80mm refractor is a good choice. _________________ ----------------------
