Hi,

I have a new ETX-105AT and I am trying to do the initial alignment 2 times now, thing is when it goes to track a star, because its not locked on, I am supposed to "use the arrow keys" to adjust the scopes position and then hit enter to go to the next star it uses to align.

Thing is I can't use the arrow keys... when I press them the scope goes nowhere. I even tried moving on to a new star to align with and its the same story.

I am able to use the arrow keys when the scope is first turned on to manually point the scope so I at least know the arrow keys do work.

Just for fun (even know it wasnt aligned correctly) i did a goto to mars and when it was done slewing I tried to manually adjust the scope with the arrow keys again and had the same result.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is my scope broken? Thanks for any help.

Hi

Sounds like a glitch in the hand control or drive. Contact a tech at Meade at 1-800-626-3233

Talked to mead and they said that it moves at such a slow speed that I wouldn't even know its moving unless I looked through the eyepiece... The said I should change the speed to a higher speed and then I would actually see it move.

I guess I will give that a try and call them back if it doesn't work.
