This is not that important, but if you have the time to answer it might be interesting. The other night I was flipping through the channels and came up on a show called Future Weapons. They were demonstrating the Barrett 416 rifle and making a shot on a target 2500 yards away. It appeared that they were watching the target with a rather large spotting scope. As the shot was made you could clearly see the shot on the target (could have been a remote camera). My question; is there such a spotting scope that is capable of seeing a .41 caliber hole at 2500 yards (even under ideal conditions) commericially available, and what could it be? |

Hi,
No, there is no optical system that will do this. They must have been operating by remote camera. At 2500 yards/meters yuo cannot resolve a human, much less a .41 caliber hole. This is due to atmospheric disturbances like dust, humidity, heat waves and other air currents. Magnification high enough to see a .41 caliber hole will also magnify all the "junk" in between rendering your image as useless. _________________ Best Regards,
