celestron ultima 80MM ED or vortex 80 non-ED??PLEASE!

Hi everyone,

I am one mouse clic away from buying one of those two scopes! but can't really decide myself..want to make the right choice!
The celestron 80mm Ed is tempting because of the ED Glass and the price of course, but i heard the eyepiece was really mediocre(could it be why it is so cheap?)....anyone's got this scope to confirm or deny?
The Vortex 80 sounds great, many of you saying that it works nicely even at high magnification, but then the ED model is sadly over my budget..
would digiscoping with the vortex 80 non-ED give me a much poorer quality picture than the Celestron 80mm ED, let's say at 40x?
Waou, i really need your help with that one guys...

Hi

I woulld stay with the Vortex on this one, even without the ED. The eyepiece is still an issue with the Celestron, ED or not. The Vortex also has better build quality and is overall a better scope.

Cool, thanks for the quick and direct answer!
I will then forget the celestron and make the big jump with the Vortex!!
Just in case, around that price, any other model you would personaly recommend?...
