I am picking up my new scope this Saturday. I have not comitted to it yet, but I think I will. This is my first large scope, please tell me if its a good deal or if the pricing is too high.

Meade 10" LX50
Meade super wedge
Magellan II hand controller (semi goto)
Stock hand controller
Meade 2" 32mm WA eyepiece
Meade 2" 14mm WA eyepiece
Meade 1-1/4" 26mm eyepiece
Televu 8mm eyepiece
University Optics right angle image finder scope
Rigel Quick finder
8x50 Meade view finder
Metal dew shield
tripod with 5" wheels
Meade 2" and 1-1/4" diagonal
120V power supply and cables

My ultimate goal is photography, will this setup do the job? I think all I will need to get right away is the Canon EOS adapter and maybe a 2X extender. Can I hook the camera up through an eye piece or is it just via T-mount?

Anyway, thats the summary, does it seem like a good deal?

Hi Mark

We don't deal in used equipment and you didn't mention a price, but it is certainly a complete package and will do nicely for visual observing or astrophotography. As far as astrophotography, you can add a standard t-adapter to do prime focus photography or a tele-extender to do eyepiece projection. Just a matter of the adapter you want to use. Not an issue.

Hi

Yes, I'd say that is quite reasonable, given that the LX90 in a 10", which replaced this model, without accessories, runs about $2600. Of course, an LX90 will have the benefit of a better computer and mount and is a more advanced scope in terms of technology. The, too, as with any used telescope, much depends on the condition.
