scope mounts and rings

Just bought a Savage model 93R17 SS. Am wanting to put a 6x18x50 Bushnell scope on it. Can't find top mounts big enought to lift scope off of barrel. Found Weaver 61 mounts; but do not fit the drill pattern. Don't care about the color; [ blue/silver] just need base mounts and or rings combo. to do the job. Also; as I have read and experiendence that the trigger pull is hard on this little rifle; any help on that?

Hi

We don't carry a base for your Savage, but any good gunsmith should be able to make you the proper weaver base from some bar stock.

For extra high weaver style rings, you can go with the Barska, http://www.opticsplanet.net/barska-riflescopes-rings.html
