I know you really like the Pentax DCF ED's. How do the Vortex DLS Stokes compare to the Pentax DCF ED's in optical quality and low light performance in a 10 X 42?
Also, what is the difference between a birding and a hunting binocular?
Thanks! |

Hi
I still like the DCF ED, but can't go wrong with either one.
Really very little difference between a hunting binocular and a birding binocular, with the possible exception of the minimum focus and waterproofing.
A close minimum focus distance is important to birders, but not hunters. However, manufacturers, these days, make all their binos with a good birding minimum focus to get sales from both users. Likewise, most birders do not need waterproofing, but always a must for a good hunting binocular. Again, nearly all good binos are waterproof, anyway. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
