What tripod do you recommend for the Nikon25x75x82ED Fieldscope? I will be using it for guiding Wyoming antelope and muledeer. Must be portable, will carrry it on the outside of my backpack. I'm 5'9", would like to be able to use it sitting and standing. Doesn't need to be the top of the line but sturdy enough to withstand the wind and rough country. Thanks, you make the tough decisions so much easier! Exclamation

Hi

You won't find a compact tripod that will allow you to stand. If you want to do both, you are stuck buying a full size tripod. The Nikon 848 (made by Bogen) is a bit lighter than I generally recommend for an 82mm scope, but it is rugged and durable and probably as light as you will get in a full size tripod at 5 pounds.
