Thanks in advance. Your advice has helped me out in the past. Can you recommend a tripod/mount for the Celestron 15x70? Something relatively inexpensive that can get the job done. Again thanks for any suggestions.

Although a bit lighter than I would like, the B&L Advanced Titanium, http://www.opticsplanet.net/baloadtitr63.html is a quality, all metal tripod despite it's low price. Easily the best buy going on a tripod.

The Celestron Alt-AZ, http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-heavy-duty-az-tripod.html has slow motion controls which is a great feature for astronomy. It will handle the 15x70 no problem.
