Both are below $ 400.
I currently have some junk bins so this will be a giant leap in bins for me.
I haven't held decent bins in my hands for years and live far from retailers.
I can't justify spending $ 2000 due to my usage.
The initial use for these bins will be standing inside watching birds on my feeder 30 ft away. I'm sure I'll use them outside as well.
I'm 50, medium size hands, wear glasses for reading only.
I'm guessing I'd like the brighter of the two.
Also considering...
Pentax 8 x 43 DCF SP $ 600
Minoc HG 8.5 x 43 $ 829
Swift Eaglet 8 x 42 826 $ 479
Any comments appreciated. |

Hi
Not going to be a significant difference in optics, on these two. I might give the Pinnacles a slight edge in image brightness, but it will never be enough to notice in the filed. Handling-wise, I likle the Swift, but that's my hands. You may like the way the Pinnacles handles. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Received the 8 x 42 Pinnacles this morning.
Great price, fast shipping, excellent customer care, outstanding build quality.
Thank you Joanie for your comments.
Looking through these is a treat. Objects are bright and sharp, even to my fading 50 year old eyes. It's well balanced and I like the eye pieces.
Leupold Green Ring Pinnacles 8 x 42
Highly recommended by this rookie bin user. |
