I have a nice .243 Remington M700 and was given a new Tasco Scope.
An HC624X40 made in Taiwan. My question is how good is this scope and is it a good enough scope to put on my 700 for target shooting? If not I will get something else. It looks like a nice scope but I don't know the shortcomings of Tasco scopes.

Hi,

Tasco makes a decent entry level scope. You do have a nice rifle and I would recommend going with nicer optics to compliment the rifle's accuracy. For a decent price, here's a couple models that I recommend.

(In no particular order)

Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42

Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40 (best scope for the money)

Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40

Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x40
