| I work for a company that does multiple studies for clients. A pressing study involves movement of 6-12 inch long organisms in the water, not more than a foot under the surface. Since these animals are nocturnal and they are scared by light, do you have any recommendations as to what we can get? We have about $800 to spend on two. |

Hi
That kind of a budget will put you into a Gen 1 NV. Resolution is not great on these, but they should allow you to spot fish, though you may not have enough image quality for actual identification.
Since gen 1 units are roghly similar in terms of performance, I'd look at other features, especially waterproofing since you will obviously be using these around water.
Try the Bushnell WP, http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-25x42-nvw1.html and the Yukon, http://www.opticsplanet.net/yukon-2x24-multitask.html _________________ ----------------------
