Lifeguard here...Looking for suggestions on polarized glasses for indoor use. Trying to find something that'd cut glare off the water.
Also, is this a good idea to begin with? I move constantly so I never have too much of a blind spot from the glare but it is a little disconcerting to know that I've got about a minute where I can't see the bottom in a section of the deep end. I'd hate to miss a body for lack of a piece of polarized glass.
Controlling glare from reflections off water is the most common example of an application for polarized lenses. Along with lifeguards, other folks who are on the water, like boaters and people who fish, often prefer polarized.
Have you worn polarized? Do you know that they help you see through the deep end?
Polarized lens might have more of a darkening effect than non-polarized when worn inside and not looking outside.
For your active profession, I recommend a plastic frame and plastic lens for safety. A close-fitting wrap-around might stay in place better if there's an emergency and you have to wear them in water.
