Why was Leupolds "PR" line of MK IVs discontinued

I have one of these, the 4.5-14x40,30mm., mil-dot, and am curious. Anyone know ? Thanks.......m.

They were very good scopes, but didn't sell. The VX7 line has the latest technology and more resources are spent on advertising. So far, similar sales results. Right or wrong, customers often want high end optics to say Europe on them.

That's why serious hunters stay away from brands like Leupold, Bushnell, Burris etc.

As long as our American dollar continues to dive, items from especially Europe will get higher for us. American made is getting cheaper for them. Sure if the opposite were true I would like a German or Austrian made scope but they are getting more out of reach each day.
