Hello all,
Have been reading through the myriad of posts for the last few days and would like to ask for some recommendations.
I have purchased a Tikka T3 super varmint in .270 with the intention of taking it on my first deer hunt in the alpine region of Victoria Australia. Had to upgrade rifle from .243 to this caliber due to legal restrictions so I thought I would upgrade my present scope. Have done a bit of shooting before mostly pest animals in Queensland. Shoots there at about 50-400m and as this is my main area would like the scope for this shooting in particular, however I am purchasing for the deer hunting trip mentioned above
What I would like;
1. 4x14x40(ish)
2. holds point of impact well…rugged I suppose
3. above requirement through the varying zooms is important (BUT don’t know if such a scope exists??)
4. Parrallex correctable. Here I am a lot more unsure..can I get away with a fast focus feature?
Price range is flexible to an extent $400-$800
Any recommendations would be appreciated
Many Thanks
Peter
EDIT: I am also partial to relicals such as Swarovski TDS-4 style or the Boone & Crockett Reticle in the Leupold VX-III
The Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x40 would be an excellent model for your rifle. This super rugged and reliable scope will last for generations. For the Parallax adjustable version, go with the Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x40 Long Range rifle scope. This version has a 30mm main tube to allow for a greater elevation and windage adjustment range. _________________ Best Regards,
