Joanie,
Occasionally, when finances allow, I will buy a pair or two of binoculars to give to friends and neighbors to encourgage them to begin birdwatching (and feeding birds). I don't want to give bins that have poor optics or are hard to use. Also I can't afford to give away high-dollar optics. In the past I have been giving the excellent Browning 8x32's, but they are no longer available. I have heard good reviews on the Leupold Yosemite 6x30. What do you think of these, and please suggest others at around $100-150. I will be giving them to both kids and adults.
Great idea and thanks for doing your part to promote birding.
The Yosemite will surely work and going with a porro gets your best optical bang for the buck. In that same vein, I wouldn't be afraid to go with an 8x40 porro, such as the Nikon Action Extreme 8x40. Great way to get someone started birding. Another option in a roof is an 8x32, such as the Bushnell Excursion 8x32 _________________ Thanks for posting with us
