Alpen or Celestron?

I would like to buy an inexpensive spotting scope for the range, mainly 50 - 100 yard work. I also wear glasses so I need good eye relief.

Which would you recommend between the:

Celestron

Spotting Scope

Hi

Either one will do fine for that job. Optically, pretty close, but the Alpen is a touch smaller if you need something more compact.

I'm about to purchase the Alpen, but the tripod looks pretty pathetic. What would you suggest for a replacement that is inexpensive? Something small that sits low would be best as it will be sitting on the same bench as I am shooting from.

Hi

Try a convetinal shooters tripod, such as the Bushnell or the Alpen. These are designed for bench work.
