| I have a pair of Nikon SE 10x42 and am very satisfied with them. But ‘cause I need a waterproof binocular I bought a 10x42 LXL on Ebay. The LXL are also great bins and very comfortable to hold. I think I can resolve about the same amount of details with both of them, but nevertheless the SE seems a bit brighter and brillant to me (more WOW-effect). Has anyone made similar or other experiences? Thanks for your replies! |

| I have 10x42 and 8x32 Nikon SE's and I just bought an 8x32 LX (not LXL). I cannot tell the difference between the LX and the SE, and the LX is waterproof and has adjustable eyepieces. I am somewhat tired of rolling the rubber back and forth for my glasses on the SE. For the first time I may consider selling the faithful 8x32. |

Hi
I have owned both as well and have to say that, no, there is not a great deal of difference, but there is some difference. For me, the SE was the brighter of the two ifor birding in low light situations. Of course, the LX focused butter smooth and had all the usual roof design goodies. In the end, though, couldn't part with the SE. Sold the LX. Each to their own. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
