Do you know what kind of lenses were used on the older Leupold Spotting scopes such as 20 x 60 mm or 30 x 60 mm compared to their new compact spotting scopes?

Hi

They were a completely different design. They were non-PC roof prisms and definitely not HD or any other special performance glass.

They also had very, very narrow fields of view. (84 ft @1000 yds for the 25x50 and 64 ft @ 1000 yds for the 30x60)
