Hi,
Can handheld infrared illuminator units that are really powerful (450mW or more) damage the intensifier tubes of a night vision device (night vision riflescope)?
Thanks. |

Negative. Never heard of any issues with too much IR light. _________________ Aim Hard!

Thanks for the answers, a follow up question. I have a customer of mine who bought 2 pcs of the ATN IR450-B4 Super Long Range Infrared Illuminator 450mW (Mfr. ACMUIR45B4) from us. Talked to him last week and one of the units was broke (at least this is what he says). So I sent him a new one yesterday which he recieved today, and appereantly this one was also broken. One of his friends bought one of the first 2 pcs, he tried this unit today also but it didn't work. I'm getting rather sceptical to all this since it's 3 brand new units and all are broken. The information I got was that the unit does not emit any IR-light, do these units need to be rifle mounted to work? Or how could this be explained?
We haven't had any problems with the IR-lamps that ship with the ATN MK350, MK390 Paladin, MK330 or any of the other Night vision riflescopes we've sold, so it's pretty remarkable that 3 brand new IR-lamps are broken (DOA). Do you have any experience with this, is this a problem you have encountered also?
Thanks. |

Are your customer pressing both bottuns at the same time to turn the unit on?
If not that is the problem. |
