Hi Joanie,
Two weeks ago I placed an order for the above scope. Apparently this particular model is out of stock. Do you know when the new batch will arrive? I am concern I will not receive my order in time for my upcoming summer travel which will start in mid June 08. Should I start looking for an alternative model?
Regards,
TJ |

Hi
Wish I could give you a definite answer, but with Nikon that is always an iffy proposition. Just about impossible to say, at this point. I would give it a week and if nothing develops, we can start looking for alternatives. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

|
|
Hi Joanie,
I will start my travel in 10 days and there is still no sign the Nikon 82 mm ED Angled would be available again in your store.
I need to start thinking about the alternatives. What would you recommend? I have the following criteria:
1) 80+ mm objective preferably but would consider also 60+ mm
2) Angled
3) ED glass
4) Option for digiscoping (I have Nikon D80 SLR)
5) Budget: $2000
6) Pls also advise the eye-piece & attachment adapter for SLR
Regards,
TJ |

Can get you a Bushnell Elite 20-60x80 with the SLR adapter, 780050 and a t-ring for a Nikon, 93402
Also have a Pentax PF80ED-A zoom kit with eyepiece, but no dedicated SLR adapters for Nikon. Sorry.
Best option, in my mind, is a Zeiss 65mm angled, green, 528014, plus the 528061 zoom (available through a distibutor). The SLR adapter is baclordered from Zeiss, however.
On option you can always explore on the camera on the Pentax and the Zeiss, is to digiscope through the eyepiece, with a universla rail adapter, such as the Alpen 706 by adding any small digital point and shoot. I think it is a better option, anyway, than using your SLR. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Joanie,
Thanks. What about 80+ mm ? Would you recommend Kowa ? I forgot to mention that I am also wearing glasses.

Thank you for the recommendation. I will start reviewing these scopes.
If I get the a Bushnell Elite 20-60x80 with the SLR adapter, 780050, do I still need the T-ring for a Nikon, 93402 ? What is this T-Ring for?
Do I also need to get a fixed eye-piece?

One more question on the Bushness Elite, can I mount the scope on a tripod or do I need to get a separate mounting plate? I have a Bogen 3021 with 322RC2 head.

Hi
Oops. Forgot that one. Sorry.
Yes, you stioll need a t-ring, but that's a good thing, compared to the Nikon and Pentax adapters. A camera adapter that uses t-rings allows you to use the scope and adapter with any brand of SLR. With the Pentax and Nikon adapters, you are stuck with their brands, respectively. Besides, at $16, a t-ring, such as the 93402 by Celestron, is not a big deal. _________________ Thanks for posting with us
