Does a Leupold VXIII have a noticable amount of more light at dusky dark than a VXII at same power to make price difference worth it? Or what durable scope has the most light for least amount of money?

The best value in a scope with very good brightness for low light conditions is the Zeiss Conquest 3-9-40, next up is the 3-9-50mm, for value in good brightness versus cost. the 50mm cost more for the bigger objective lens so brightness versus cost goes down as it is at least another $100 up the food chain scale, but its a great scope.
Another good value is the Bushnell 4200 series with rain guard. The brightness and the overall spectrum of light is not as good as the Zeiss but its pretty close for less money.
I would go with the Zeiss Conquest 3-9-40mm at $400 to $450 price range and be happy. (I actually already did 2 years ago)
