I have a Savage 110e in 7mm Rem Mag. im using Weaver bases and KwikSite low rings for it. When trying to boresight (no collimator or laser) it will be off high and to the right. I had the same trouble on this gun using the previous brandless mounts (came with the rifle when I bought it used). however when shooting it will shoot high and to the right. (and group nicely)... instead of low and left as the boresight picture would predict.
After playing with the windage and elevation I was able to zero it and as said, group nicely. however even after zeroing it in, the boresight image shows the scope aiming high and right with the barrel image "dead on".
The scope is a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40mm, bought new.
Doesnt seem to be a problem with the bases or rings since it had happened on both setups and grouping was consistent.
Since it has held zero, even if off when boresighted, do you think it is ok to keep going? or should I look for the perfect picture?
thanks!!

You haven't stated that you have an actual problem. The bullets are going where you want them to go when you use the scope as your aiming device the way you should. You zeroed your scope to adjust for all the little nuances you can't see about your barrel and got the bullets to not only hit point of aim but also group consistently. Exactly what is it you hope to fix? Nobody said the bullets fly straight once they leave the barrel. I am guessing your barrel has a right hand twist. When the scope is on target the barrel is pointing low and left. The bullets leave the barrel and climb up and right. There are other minor factors as well but not worth going into, since you don't have an actual problem. Unless you are at the end of your scope adjustments, you have achieved success, declare victory and tell the wife you need to stock up on more ammo. You cannot go by basic eyeballing down the barrel and determine accurately that the scope is not aligned with it as well as it should be. There is nothing wrong with your scope.

To see if you are at the end of your scope's useable range, you can do the box test. 20 clicks up at 100 yards (should be 5 inches for most scopes), 20 clicks right, (again 5 inches to the right), then 40 clicks down, then 40 clicks to the left then 40 clicks up then 20 clicks right and then 20 clicks down. Take a shot at each of those positions. At 100 yards that should make you a 10 square box on your target if you keep your point of aim at the center. If you run out of clicks in one direction of the other, it is your mounts, possibly the rings, but not the scope. If you can do the 10 inch box and after you are all done and centered back to zero, be happy.
