flip open caps

Im looking for Butler Creek flip open caps for a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40mm.
No quite sure which ones will fit. I want the black solid plastic ones, not the see thru (cause really you cant see a lot through them, hehe)

In order to get the right fit with the Butler Creek scope covers, you must physically measure the outside diameter of both the objective bell and the eyepiece bell. Take those measurements and plug them into the fit chart on the site.

do you think it is worth to get the see through ones, or the plastic ones will provide more protection?

I find that they both provide the same amount of protection. The see through covers are pretty cloudy to me and I would never use them myself, but they absolutely have their advantages. If you're on a hunt and have only seconds to get off a shot, you will probably lose the opportunity if you forget to open the lens covers. See through would at least work better than solid black plasitc in this case.
