My Grandfather just gave me his sako forester 22-250 with a redfield 3x9 scope on it. My question is can anyone help me figure out the rangefinder on it? I also would like to know what the other pair of crosshairs is used for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

If it has two horizontal crosshairs (lines) and a little window with numbers, you bracket a deer chest cavitywith the two lines by adjusting the magnification (power ring on the scope), then checking the number in the window. The number corresponds to hundreds of yards.
